Improved Thermal Conductivity
The intrinsic thermal conductivity of alumina is much higher than that of polymer matrices. After filling, it can form thermal conduction networks in the matrix, significantly improving the overall thermal conductivity of composite materials.
Excellent Electrical Insulation
As a typical insulating ceramic material, alumina has a volume resistivity as high as about 10¹⁰ Ω·cm, ensuring no short circuits while conducting heat. It is suitable for direct contact with electronic components.
High Cost Performance & Low Cost
Compared with high-end fillers such as aluminum nitride (AlN) and boron nitride (BN), alumina has abundant raw material sources and mature production processes, with a much lower price, making it ideal for large-scale industrial applications.
Good Process Compatibility
Spherical or near-spherical alumina allows high filling ratios with low system viscosity, facilitating processing and molding.
It is highly compatible with silicone rubber, epoxy resin, polyurethane and other matrices, and can be used to produce thermal greases, pads, potting compounds, thermally conductive plastics, etc.
Enhanced Mechanical Properties
Alumina particles improve the hardness, wear resistance and compressive strength of composite materials, enhancing product durability.
